West Fork Ecola Creek Large Woody Debris
Eleven (18) pieces of large woody debris (LWD)
were placed in the West Fork Ecola Creek Summer 2003. The
wood will slow stream velocities, trap and sort spawning gravels
and provide summer habitat for juvenile coho salmon. The project
took place on Oregon Department of Forestry property.
Total cost of the project was approximately
$12,000.
- Oregon Department of Transportation donated half of the
LWD from a road building project
- Oregon Department of Forestry donated half of the LWD from
wind throw
- Willamette Industries donated $500
- Weyerhaeuser Company provided a storage site for the wood.
