Galena Road Tidegate

As the #1 priority project in the Skipanon, the council would like to improve the tidegate structure for juvenile fish passage and water quality.  However, because of the sensitivity of estuarine restoration projects the community has expressed concern with implementing the project.  Neighbor's concerns include future regulations due to the presence of salmon and potential flooding. Currently the Skipanon Watershed Council is seeking grants to implement hydrological modeling/analysis and design work of a new tidegate or other type of water control structure.
